LUNA
We adopted Luna after much searching and a previous failed
adoption attempt. We saw her online and instantly fell in love with
her. When we brought her home she fit in perfectly like she was
meant to be a part of our family, even our cats love her! We feel so
lucky to have found her as she is sociable in any situation, smart and
soo loving. She recently began puppy kindergarten and loves all her
little "classmates". We are very excited to watch her grow up as we
believe she is going to be quite a big girl..at 3 1/2 months she is quite
tall already!  Thank you so much to the Sullivan County SPCA for
helping her find her forever home and helping us find our newest furry
family member!
MCGEE
We are so incredibly blessed to have him and cannot thank you
enough for taking care of him before we got to bring him home.  We
all absolutely adore him and even though it has been only one day,
he already has us all wrapped around his little paw.  He has officially
explored every inch of his new home and licked every available piece
of skin on each of us and apparently finds us acceptable since he
snuggles with us at every available occasion. Again, you all are
special people and are doing such wonderful things for pets in need
and we just want to let you all know that your efforts have not gone
unnoticed nor unappreciated.
WINSTON
Born on 11/11/08, now Winston this Cane Corso mix puppy found a
home as soon as he was able to leave the shelter at 8 weeks old.
Weighing a whopping 12 lbs at 8 weeks we knew we would have our
hands full. It was as if he barely stopped eating until he was about 1
year old!  He is now a mature 70 lb hansom man who loves his big
(yet smaller) brother.  Being as strong as he is we were worried he
would hurt his brother “Boswell” a fully grown 12lb mini poodle. But
instead Boswell roughly pushes Winston around and he rolls on his
back with joy. He is full of affection and love and warms our hearts
everyday.
KELLER, Livingston Manor NY
Keller came to us an old (10 years or so) small golden retriever mix
who came to the shelter after her owners were evicted from their
home and left her behind. She was the saddest little thing when she
came to us and we really wondered  if we would be able to find a
home for her.
POOKIE
Pookie came to us as a tiny kitten. She had what we thought was
chronic eye infections because her eyes were always full of pus. Upon
closer look, we found out that she suffered from entropion, a
condition where the eyelashes grow in toward the eyeball instead of
out. Pookie got the well needed medical attention.
GERTIE
Gertie is a 5 year old long haired Rottweiler who came to us as a
result of a cruelty situation. She came in along with 5 other dogs, 3
cats, 1 horse, 1 miniature horse, 1 goat ,1 turtle and some fish. Some
time after her arrival she was diagnosed with mammary cancer as
well as several others.
KATIE
Katie, a German Shorthair Pointer, came to the shelter as a puppy
with her mom and four brothers and sisters after her previous owner
could no longer take care of them.  As you can see by the pictures,
she is now loved by her new family! Especially her big brother Bailey,
who she loves to nap.
KAY & KAISER
Kay and Kaiser both arrived at the shelter together as strays. Kay is
about 10 years old and Kaiser was a little younger at 7 years. When
their new owner Cindy adopted Kaiser, she later felt so bad about
leaving Kay behind that she came back to get her a few days later!
BRINDY & HOPE, New Windsor NY
We saw Abba (Brindy) on your website and fell in love with her. We
made several trips to visit her and brought her home in March. At first
there was an adjustment period with our cats. After the first month
they are now the best of friends. She is the protector of her 3 cats.
SHADO
After having to put down our 16 year old German Shepherd (Champ)
that we adopted from a shelter, we were very hesitant to allow
ourselves to love another animal. After about four years, my husband
starting looking at your website and kept daily tabs on Shado.  After
deciding to give it a try, he visited your Rock Hill shelter, having a
“talk” with Shado, we brought him home. We all fell in love with him
from the moment he walked through the door. He has brought us so
much joy and entertainment over the last three months. Thank you
for the care and love you gave him and the many other animals you
care for on a daily basis.
  ZEEK
I just wanted to send a quick email to let you know how Zeek is
doing.  The girls are so excited and taking great care of him, he is so
spoiled.  It has been very difficult to get him trained. He doesn't like to
go outside when it’s cold and won’t do anything outside if it’s cold.  So
that’s been a little frustrating, but we’ll just keep working on it. I've
attached a couple of updated photos of him.  We have two cats and it’
s so funny how he doesn't bother the older cat and just loves to play
with the younger cat, they are all getting along very well. Thanks
again for all your help in getting Zeek and us together, we are very
happy with him.
